The role of a Spiritual Director is to assist the student in the clarification of his vocational choice, to help him mature in prayer life which is consistent with his development as he prepares for a possible commitment to the Diocesan Priesthood. The priest director is available to discuss any questions or concerns that may arise in the spiritual life of the resident, but will not act as the resident’s spiritual director.

The relationship with a Spiritual Director is established on mutual trust, which comes about through the gradual process of openness and understanding. The Spiritual Director does not share information that has been confided to him. It is recommended that the residents meet with their Spiritual Director once a month. The meeting place is mutually agreed upon for convenience and time.
